Steeplechase Leggings – now layered and improved!

Our Steeplechase Leggings pattern has been a best-seller since the moment we released it back in 2015 (when I was in NYC for my birthday, I distinctly remember!). It's a truly unique pattern for a no-inseam legging with flattering style lines, a simple construction that belies the initial "wtf?" reaction when you see the weird pattern shapes, and multiple lengths mean you can wear it all year round.

Our Steeplechase Leggings pattern has been a best-seller since the moment we released it back in 2015 (when I was in NYC for my birthday, I distinctly remember!). It’s a truly unique pattern for a no-inseam legging with flattering style lines, a simple construction that belies the initial “wtf?” reaction when you see the weird pattern shapes, and multiple lengths mean you can wear it all year round.

Things have changed in the digital pattern space in the past 5 years, though, and I’ve been meaning to update it for a while now – so now, as of today, the Steeplechase Leggings is a layered pdf (meaning you can print just the size(s) you need!)! Woo! I’ve been trying to go back and update our earlier patterns to have this feature and this brings them more in line with our more recent patterns. You can see all our layered patterns here.

In addition, I wanted to clean up how the English and French languages were presented in this pattern to make it a bit cleaner for everyone to understand. So instead of having the English and French text squished together on the same pattern sheets, I’ve separated these off into their own versions – so the English Print at Home and A0 versions only contain English text, and the French Print at Home and A0 versions only contain French text. When I initially launched the French translations, I wanted to be able to gauge interest, so I kept the French instructions as a free pdf, but this has led to lots of people downloading them purely because they’re free, which is weird (as you don’t get the pattern pieces so what’s the point?), and not the way most customers are expecting to get their instructions anyway.

So now, when you purchase the Steeplechase Leggings pattern, you get 6 pdf files:

  • The fully illustrated, English language instructions
  • The English language “Print at Home” pattern (compatible with US and A4 printers)
  • The English language “Copy Shop” pattern (compatible with A0 and 36in wide printers)
  • The fully illustrated, French language instructions
  • The French language “Print at Home” pattern (compatible with US and A4 printers)
  • The French language “Copy Shop” pattern (compatible with A0 and 36in wide printers)

I realise that our Duathlon Shorts and XYT Workout Top still have their translations presented in the former way, so it’s on my list to give them the same treatment as I’ve done with the Steeplechase Leggings here (but first is the total revamp of the PB Jam Leggings, which is already in progress!).

If you’ve purchased the Steeplechase Leggings pattern from us in the past, you should’ve already received an automated email saying the file has been updated. If you’ve not received this or have purchased yours from a 3rd party reseller, please use the form below or email enquiries at fehrtrade dot com with your proof of purchase.
