“Sew Your Own Activewear” UK release day!

//

It’s here! The first release day for my “Sew Your Own Activewear” book is finally here!

My “Sew Your Own Activewear” book is released TODAY in the UK!! This represents over a year’s worth of work in writing, designing, drafting, illustrating, and sewing up thirteen different activewear designs which span all seasons and a ton of different sports.

Making this book (and all the patterns, illustrations, and samples) was my full time job for four months straight last year, followed by several rounds of edits over the summer and I’m so glad I can finally share it with you all! I think I’m most looking forward to seeing what you all do with the designs – fabrics I wouldn’t have considered, mixing and matching design details to suit your own needs, and generally making it all your own! If I’d written a novel the best I could hope for is a good review, but with a sewing book I get to see what you all make with it!!

It’s up on Amazon UK to buy now, or it’s out in the US on 30 March published by Sew & So (F&W International). You can also pre-order it from Amazon CA or Amazon DE – and find out how to claim your FREE bonus pattern while you wait here!

You may notice that it’s got an “Out of Stock” message on Amazon UK right now – this is just because the cargo ship bringing all the books from the printers in Asia has been delayed by storms and was only in the English Channel on Monday! (My Twitter and Instagram followers got a play-by-play as we tracked the ship into Southampton!). All the print copies except for a handful of advance ones were on this ship, so I expect Amazon should get its stock in the next day or so – so don’t let that put you off!

I’ve arranged to have my stock separated out at the port and couriered straight to me rather than going via the publisher’s warehouse, so I should get your pre-order copies literally any minute now, and I will be signing, packaging, and shipping them out as soon as humanly possible – hopefully by tomorrow but by Monday at the latest. Please bear with me as I was hoping I’d have a few weeks to do this, not a few hours, and the stack of printed order sheets is a few inches thick! If you’re coming to my launch party in London tonight I should have copies to buy there, too.

In other exciting news, “Sew Your Own Activewear” was selected as the Book of the Month in the February issue of Love Sewing magazine! How ace is that?!

Love Sewing magazine – In the Good Books (issue 17, Jan 2018)

I’ll be carrying on with my blog posts and tutorials on the different designs in the book, too, taking a design per week up through the end of March (though next week’s offering might be a bit light as my usual blogging time this weekend is being spent shipping out your orders instead!). They’re all being collected over at www.sewyourownactivewear.com if you missed any!

There’s also a blog hop starting soon and I’ll be taking over the Sew And So Instagram account on Monday, too! If you make anything from the book, please use the #SewYourOwnActivewear hashtag so we can find it and big you up!

Thank you so much to each and every one of your fore your love, support, and patience over the years – this book would’ve never happened without you!

    Melissa – I’m a faithful and regular reader since before you were married I think! Congratulations! I’m not much of an active wear person BUT should be. It’s been great to watch your process and best wishes!
